2010 Great Adventure Day 4

After snow the night before we woke up to a cold morning at Canyon Village in Yellowstone!
We headed to the cafeteria for hot breakfast and coffee before setting out towards Norris and eventually Grant Village.
We've secured an amazing campsite right near the lake for the rest of the week.

The geyesers and thermal features of Yellowstone are amazing and strange. The hot pots make strange bubbling sounds.  And its all very stinky (like sulfer) .  We both have talked about wanting to touch it to see just how hot it is and maybe that's a sign we're having shower withdrawal.
(We did manage to get to the pay showers later in the day and let me tell you...those were 6 glorious minutes of hot water!)

We didn't see a lot of wildlife today but we did come across a few cow elk and chipmunks. The little man is TERRIFIED of the chippies and the large birds that hang around touristy areas.

Little man's comments of the day
1. I go home. Why?  To see Patrick and Nicki.
2. No go water (after the third hot spring...he understands they are ' hot hot ' and stinky. Mostly i think the bubbling is a bit scary when combined w the smell. )

We're headed to Old Faithful tomorrow!!!
All the best, JKL
