A few people have called to ask if the fires that are occurring are near us or are we in any danger. The quick and short of it is we are not in any danger but we do have some friends that were evacuated last night.
The fires were sparked from downed power lines and then fueled by the gusty winds that have been plaguing the front range. the closest the fire was to us was 3-4 miles due west. You could see the smoke and flames from the house.
We have spoken to many of our friends that were evacuated and they are all staying with friends until they are allowed back to their houses. The winds will be subsiding today which should allow the fire crews to get 100% containment.
Our thoughts are with everyone who have been plagued by this disaster.
