Our Bags Are Packed!

It has finally arrived! Kristen and I are way too psyched for this trip. We'll be travelling with our friends Andy and Rachel Couch whom are cycling enthusiasts like myself. On the agenda is Treviso a town just North of Venice where we will take in the Cyclocross world championships where friends of ours will be racing for a chance to wear the coveted world championship rainbow stripes for the rest of there lives in all disciplines of cycling. There are two Americans whom have a really great chance to realize this dream. Katie Compton whom was coach of mine a few years back and the Jonathan Page whom is living and racing in the land of cross in Belgium. After spectating the races we'll travel to Venice (known as the "Queen of the Adriatic", "City of Water", "City of Bridges", and "The City of Light".) to tour the Grand canal.

After a one day excursion in Venice we'll take a train back to Florence which was our point of entry into Italy and take on the birthplace of Renaissance. From the Duomo, to the Pontevecchio , Andy and Rachel will be our informal guides around the city as they were married here and know it quite well. Kristen will be providing narrative along the way by digging deep into her memory and drawing from her studies in college with her Art history minor. We hope 7 days in Florence will be enough but from past discussion it will allow us to just scratch the surface.

This trip is sure to be a memorable one and the weather outlook looks awesome. Check back for photos and updates along the way. Wish us safe travels!
